Mín rödd–Mitt atkvæði! // My vote–My voice!

Reykjanesbær í samstarfi við verkefnið Mitt atkvæði – Mín rödd sem stutt er af félags- og húsnæðismálaráðuneytinu stendur fyrir vinnustofum fyrir íbúa af erlendum uppruna til þess að auka kosningaþátttöku í sveitarstjórnarkosningum í vor. Vinnustofurnar miða að því að auka þekkingu innflytjenda á sveitarstjórnarkosningum og hlutverki sveitarfélagsins, og hvaða áhrif kosningar hafa á nærumhverfi og þjónustu. Þá verður fjallað um réttindi innflytjenda til að kjósa og bjóða sig fram.

Do you want to take part in democracy in Iceland?

The municipal elections will be held on May 16th, and now is the chance to learn about your rights, understand better how municipalities work, and meet other immigrants who want to take part and make an impact.
We invite you to a informative and enjoyable workshops where you:

  •  learn about your rights and the elections
  •  understand better the role of municipal councils
  • meet other people, discuss important topics and share experiences
  • get practical tools to participate in democracy

Workshop 1 is educational and will be carried out in two parts, Thursday 19 March and Thursday 26 March from 16:15-18:45 each time. These workshops will take place at Miðstöð símenntunar á Suðurnesjum (MSS), Krossmóa 4, 230 Reykjanesbær. 

Workshop 2 will focus on the campaign and take place Saturday 28 March from 11:30 -14:30. Children are welcome that day. The workshop will take place at the Main Library at Hljómahöll, Hjallavegi 2, 260 Reykjanesbær.

Participation is free, snacks will be served and everyone is warmly welcome.
